I have many labels (mother, daughter, wife, doctor, former Paralympian, congenital amputee, Christian) and many passions (health equity, integration of mental and physical health care, yoga, cooking, swimming, improving the health and lives of children and the systems that serve them). For most of my life, these various parts of me have been silos or battled each other for priority. Some labels were only achievable by sacrificing nearly everything else for years at a time, but I’m tired of being fragmented. Welcome to my journey toward self integration and putting down the armor of achievement.
